What is self esteem?


Self esteem is the image of yourself in your own mind. It relates what you think about yourself, your qualities and your abilities. It is the one the important thing to get success in life. It is more personal than social though it attached with your social behavior and your social impact, at last it is the thing that should be developed by you. Self esteem is related to your happiness level in your life and increased self esteem will definitely result in more happier and better life.
Low self esteem will not good in anyway. It can decrease the level of confidence and also it will affect your capabilities and capacities in negative. It may also develop negative thoughts in your mind which are harmful for your mental and psychological health.

  2. It is very first step to improve your mental image. If your visual looks are good then it might help to increase positive effect on your mental image- self esteem. Try to make up yourself and dress well. You can try different types and choose the dress which best suits your looks. If you look good according to your then it will definitely change your social behavior and you will see yourself as more confident person ever. Also choose the color according to your needs and your looks. It always good to choose the cloths with color which suits you best. Also you can try different make ups and different hair styles to gain confidence with your looks.
  3. Develop good and clean hygienic habits:
  4. It is also important that you should have clean hygienic habits. It will definitely improve your self esteem and differ you from the other people. It is easy to develop such habits. Also observe what are the good habits that should be followed socially and develop accordingly. There are some habits or customs which may be regarded as bad practice. Try stay away from such habits which makes you uncomfortable.
  5. Practice different postures and looks before mirror:
  6. Mirror is your true friend and it will tell you lie anytime. So you can trust on him. Use your mirror to practice different postures and poses assuming you are in your social circle or you are in office meeting. You can practice any situation before according to your needs. Also it will give you idea about how should present yourself in different situations.

  8. Regular exercise will keep fit and healthy all the time. I am not talking about heavy gym exercise but you can try simple workouts at home also. The Yoga is again good and more beneficial for you. You can try different types and asanas in yoga. If your health is at its best level and if you are feeling fit yourself it will surely give you more self confidence and also helps to increase your positive image in your mind.

  10. It is one of the most important step. Don't think any negative points about you instead try to focus more on your strengths and abilities. Also if you think you are lagging behind somewhere then you can try to develop those areas within you. Negative thinking is always harmful to you and your body, mentally and physically. So avoid negative thinking in anyway. For that you should forget about your failures and mistakes in past. Learn to take mistakes and failures as lesson.

Be confident always and try to grab the places where you will get more attraction and attention. Try developing such habits slowly, as it is not fixed period process and you have to work it on your whole life. But after practicing these things for some time they will become your habits, which are good for and your success, and you will forget that you are practicing improving yourself according to the needs of time.

  16. Walking faster will really help you to be confident and to increase your self esteem. Also speak whenever necessary and whenever you get chance. These both actions are simple and easy to follow but they are important to increase level of self esteem within you.

You may have done some good work either in office or socially or you might have achieved something, learn to appreciate yourself for your good deeds and achievements.  You can do this two ways: Either through your personal diary or by standing before mirror. You can develop your own ways to appreciate yourself, only your imagination can stop you, but there are number of wys that can be followed to appreciate yourself.

As I have stated in my every post this topic of improving yourself is not limited to some period but if you want you can continue it for lifetime. But after some time you won't need to do these things specially as they will become your habits which are essential to get what you wanted in your life.There are different methods that may suit to different person but only need to improve yourself is your will power and dedication.
